Description:

One of the most beautiful, extremely decorative and rare large bird’s-eye view of Venice, Italy. It derived from Matthaeus Merian smaller view of Venice published in 1635. In the right side cartouche the dedication to Cardinal Abbondio Rezzonico and the date 1693. The depiction of Venice is of such fine detail that all individual structures are easily recognisable, surrounded by a winding garland containing crests of Venice’s leading families and the Venetian lion in top centre.

The map comes from Vincenzo Maria Coronelli atlas “Corso Geografico Universale…” published in Venice, 1693.

Condition:
Reasonable condition. A lot of worm traces and missing small pieces, but still very decorative and would look amazing in frame on your wall. Professional restorer cleaned and attached to acid free paper base (it can be removed from surface with no damage by profesional). Few slightly brownish areas. 100% ready for framing.
