Description:

Very rare and detailed map by Petrus Schenk, second edition, showing  the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Poland, part of Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Belarus. There is a large cartouche in the upper left corner picturing Frederick Augustus II, the Elector of Saxony, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. On the right side of the cartouche is a clerical figure, perhaps Nicolaus Copernicus, viewing the heavens with an astrolabe. There is an inset map in the upper right corner showing the Electorate of Saxony.
