1712 – E. Wells – A New Map of Present Poland


Title:                      “ A New Map of Present Poland, Hungary, Walachia, Moldavia, Little Tartary &c.Shewing thier Principall Divisions Chief Cities, Towns, Rivers, &c.”​

Rare and decorative map of the region centered on Poland and Russia, extending from the Black Sea and the Gulf of Venice to the Baltic Sea. Two title cartouches and decorative coat of arms. This map was part of an atlas dedicated to the Duke of Gloucester. The maps were highly regarded at the time for there accuracy. 

Comes from the atlas “A new sett of maps both of antient and present geography : wherein not only the latitude and longitude of many places are corrected, according to the latest observations” engraved by Benjamin Cole, published in London, 1712.
