Title:                      “Africae Tabula”

Description:

Rare map of Africa continent. The source of the Nile is shown emanating from the Ptolemaic lakes of Zaflan and Zaire south of the equator. The large pictorial title cartouche features the peoples and animals of the continent.

Comes from Weigel’s travel atlas “Bequemer Schul- und Reisen-Atlas” also titled “Atlas scholasticus et itinerarius“ published by Johann Ernst Adelbulner in Nuremberg 1718.
