Description:
Decorative map of the Russian Empire from the Black Sea and the Baltic to Kamchatka, and includes China and Northern India. With beautiful ships and sea monsters around Spitsbergen. The cartouche shows Peter the Great standing as an emperor with symbols of trade, power and warfare.

Comes from Johann Baptist Homann atlas “Neuer Atlas …” published in Nürnberg, 1720.
