Title:          “Tabula Novissima Accuratissima Regnorum Angliæ, Scotiæ Hiberniæ

Description:

Rare issue map of British Isles. Title cartouche features a portrait of King George I, flanked by figures, at the lower portion is the coat-of-arms of the House of Hanover. In the scale cartouche bottom left is the old Stuart coat-of-arms alongside a scene of Perseus on Pegasus rescuing Andromeda from Cetus, the sea monster and in the top left are the shields of England, Scotland and Ireland.

Comes from Seutter’s atlas “Atlas Novus Indicibis Instructus”, published in Augsburg, 1728.

Condition:
