Description:

Detailed and unusual antique copper engraved Plan of Tokyo, ancient named Edo or Yedo. The grounds surrounding the Edo Palace depict an imaginary, formal garden. The Nihonbashi (Japan Bridge), marked with a B, is shown east of the palace. This version of the plan has a decorative, rectangular shaped title cartouche.

Condition:
Very good condition. Wide margins. Watermarked paper with strong print. Folding lines as originally issued. Small repair in the left margin.
