Description:

A large and very decorative map of Europe, surrounded by an intricately engraved border composed of the 110 coats of arms of cities and kingdoms throughout Europe. The map is adorned with a decorative title cartouche with the winged angel of fame, Europa and a soldier surrounded by items representing civilization at bottom. Published by Louis Charles Desnos in Paris 1781. Danet was not a prolific publisher and only occasionally published in composite atlases, so is therefore quite rare. Map dated!
