A rare map of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus and Ukraine, with large portions now controlled by Russia, Prussia and Austria.
The map provides a fine look at the country at the end of the 18th century, with a large decorative cartouches. Unlike many of Elwe’s maps, this is an original work and not a re-issue of an earlier cartographer’s efforts.
Comes from Jan Barend Elwe atlas “Planisphere Representant Toute L’Etendue du Monde dans L’Ordre qu’on suivi dans ce Livre” published in Amsterdam, 1792.
