Description:

Very decorative and superbly detailed plan of Madrid. The royal and city arms grace the larger portion of the plate. The lower section provides a prospect of the city, with important sites identified. There is a bullfighting scene and a section showing native colonial supplicants providing offerings to the king of Spain.

The map comes from Matthaus Seutter atlas “Grosser Atlas” published in Augsburg c. 1730.
