Titles:           “Veteris et Modernae Urbis Romae Ichnographia et Accurata Designatio, cura et sumtibus . . .”

Description:

A very decorative and remarkable detail bird’s-eye view plan of Rome. It includes 2 figure cartouches, a coat of arms, views of the Seven Churches, description and devices of the 14 districts, ornamental cartouche with description and inset plan of the seven mountains of the ancient city of Rome.

The map comes from Matthaus Seutter atlas “Grosser Atlas” published in Augsburg c. 1730.

Condition:
Good condition. Contemporary hand coloring. Paper tape around edges on verso, only in margin (map was in the frame before). Lower separation restoration.
