Description:
This is the first edition of the Sebastian Münster’s map showing all of Spain, Portugal, the islands Majorca and Minorca. The land is graphically engraved with mountains, rivers and forests. Title on verso is beautifully decorated with biblical figures and symbols. Map comes from the German edition of Sebastian Münster’s Cosmography, titled “Cosmographey oder beschreibung aller Länder”, published ca. 1550 by Heinrich Petri in Basel.
