​Title:                      “Rubeaquum Rusach 1548”​

Description:
Antique woodcut, highly detailed, birds eye view of Rusach, the city in which Sebastian Munster studied when he was young. It showing the famous Château D’Isenbourg located in the heart of the vineyards on the Alsace wine route and the The Église Notre-Dame de l’Assomption cathedral in the centre of Rouffach. A long flowing banner title cartouche bearing the name of the town and the date 1548 runs across the top. Map comes from the Latin edition  of Sebastian Münster’s Cosmography, published ca. 1570 by Heinrich Petri in Basel.
