Blaeu’s stunning map of Iceland including an erupting volcano, sea monsters, sailing ships, decorative cartouches, compass rose and the spectacular landscape. The map was hugely influential for over 130 years as it was printed in many editions by two of the largest map publishers in the Netherlands, Willem Blaeu and Jan Jansson. Comes from latin edition Baeu’s atlas “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, sive, Atlas novus“published in Amsterdam.
