Hartmann Schedel’s the Latin edition of the “Liber Chronicarum”, more commonly known as the Nuremberg Chronicle, engraved by Michael Wolgemut, Wilhelm Pleydenwurff, Albrecht Dürer and other members of their workshop. Published in Nuremberg in 1493 by Anton Koberger for Sebald Schreyer and Sebastian Kammermeister.

The Nuremberg Chronicles was the first printed history of the known world with about 2000 woodcuts the most picturesque work of the early time of printing. It became one of the most popular books of the 15th. century. I comes with an unprecedented number of 1,809 illustrations, including views of cities and towns, battles, kings, and saints. Some images represent actual cities and other images are purely imaginative.
