Very rare decorative sheet with a fantastic view of the Poland imaginary city from the Schedel’s Nuremberg Chronicle pirate edition. Three years after the great success H.Schedel’s “Liber Chronicarum” the first illustrated description of the world was published – in 1496 in Augsburg, Johann Schensperger reprinted H.Schedel’s chronicle in German and a year later – in Latin. It’s sometimes called a “pirate reprint” or “small Schedel chronicle”. There was only 200 copies printed and it’s very rarely found.
The page comes from the Johann Schönsperger German text edition book “Das buch Der Croniken unnd geschichten” published in Augsburg, 1500.
