Description:
Antique early woodcut map of Riga Latvia, with a merchant ships on the Duna, a decorative title banner and two coats of arms. On verso transcribed the first Paternoster in Latvian language.
The map comes from French edition of Sebastian Münster’s Cosmography, titled “La Cosmographie Universelle, contenant la situation de toutes les parties du monde, auecleurs proprietez & appartenances”, engraved by Martin Hoffmann, published by Heinrich Petri in Basel, 1568.
