Description:

One of the earliest woodblock map of Italy. It shows the area from Marseille to Albania, including the Adriatic Sea, also the islands of Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia.

The map comes from the German edition of Sebastian Münster’s Cosmography, titled “Cosmographey oder beschreibung aller Länder”, published in 1598 by Heinrich Petri in Basel.
