Description:
Rare early 17th Century map of Europe by Michel Van Lochem, who at the time was the engraver and printer to the King of France. The map includes a number of ornate embellishments, including sea creatures, sailing ships and animal vignettes. The first edition of the map, pre-dating the reference to Cornelis Danckerts the Elder.

Good condition with striking old colors, brown paper, 13 cm old time restored split in middle right part, narrow margins.
