Description:
Very rare issue of one of the earliest printed maps of Switzerland and the Alps by Johannes Stumpf, orientated to the south.

The map comes from Johannes Stumpf, the third edition, revised and expanded by his son Johann Rudolf Stumpf “Gemeiner loblicher Eydgnoschafft Stetten, Landen vnd Völckeren Chronick wirdiger Thaaten Beschreybung…”, published by Josias Wolffin in Zurich, 1606.

This work was considered one of the most significant printed Swiss chronicle of the 16th century.
