Title:                      “China, regio Asiae.

Description:
Very nice miniature map of China, the map is oriented with north to the right and extends into parts of Indo-China, the Philippines and part of Japan. The Great Wall is prominently delineated and several huge lakes and rivers dominate the geography. The map was engraved by the brothers Ambrose and Ferdinand Arsenius who had been co-engravers of Ortelius’ folio Theatrum. This map comes from miniature atlas “Epitome theatri orbis terrarum” published by Jan B. Vrients. Latin text on verso.
