Very beautiful miniature map of Iceland based on Ortelius’ important map of the Island. Major cities named, the sea is stipple engraved, nice strapwork title cartouche at lower right. The map was engraved by the brothers Ambrose and Ferdinand Arsenius who had been co-engravers of Ortelius’ folio Theatrum. This map comes from miniature atlas “Epitome theatri orbis terrarum” published by Jan B. Vrients. Latin text on verso.
