Description:
Very decorative copper engraving showing the Italian-style landscape with an army camp. In front of an ancient ruin in the right half of the picture, two cavalrymen with their horses are performing exercises from the High Riding School at a riding pole in the middle of the picture. On the left edge of the picture, an officer with his page and another cavalryman on his horse are watching the exercises.  To the left below the picture is the name of the painter of the composition, Philips Wouwerman. Bottom right is the printed signature of the engraver Dancker Danckerts. In between are the address of the publisher Justus Danckerts.
