Title:           “Piazza Colonna on the Via del Corso.“

Description:

Very decorative view of the Piazza Colonna, Column Square, taking its name from the Antonina Column, known today as the Column of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, indicated as #4 in the engraving, Rome Italy. The view includes three buildings belonging to two aristocratic families: Chigi (1), also the family of the Pope Alexander VII and Ludovisi (2 & 3). Through an inscription on the lower right margin, this engraving brings attention to Via del Corso, running on the right, leveled and embellished under the administration of Pope Alexander VII.
