Description:
Attractive and large map of South East Asia drawn by Tobias Meyer for the Homann Heirs in 1748. On left sheet it shows India as far north as Delhi, across to Assam, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Sumatra. Also Maldives and Ceylon. The right sheet covers eastern China, and Formosa, the Philippines, Borneo, Java, the Celebes, the Moluccas, Timor, Papua New Guinea, and the very tip of northern Australia. Title cartouche at bottom left together with dedication to Wilhelm Carl Heinrich Friso, as Wilhelm IV., Prince of Orange and Nassau, between 1747 and heritage 1751, Governor of the United Provinces of the Netherlands Printed on two sheets and joined as issued. Map dated!
