Rare book of the Republic of Poland from the famous series of the so-called “small republics” published by House of Elzevir in the years 1617-1649 in a pocket format, making it easy to take the work with you on a trip. It describes the Kingdom of Poland, Lithuania, Prussia, Livonia and includes the work of the Polish historian Jan Łasicki – On the Gods of Samogitians, Other Sarmatians and False Christians. The diplomat, Secretary of the Chancellery of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Mykolas Lietuvis the work – Excerpt from the treatise On Tatar, Lithuanian and Muslim customs.  Ornamental title page in copperplate, characteristic of Elzewir publishing houses: under the title the royal coat of arms of the Vasa family on the Polish throne with the insignia of the Order of the Golden Fleece, on the sides of the shield “two knights: Polish and Lithuanian”.

The book was prepared by the Dutch geographer Johannes de Laet, published by House of Elzevir in Leiden, 1642.
