The engraving was created during the war between Venetians and Turkish Empire for domination over the region in the years 1684-1699.

The map comes from the atlas “Atlas Bij Iustus Danckers in de Calverftraet inde Dancbaerheijt” published by Justus Danckerts in Amsterdam, 1688.
