1590 – G. Braun & F. Hogenberg – Brema Urbs
Title: “Brema Urbs Hanseatici Foederis Ad Visurbum Flu. Valide Munita mercimoniis Divis et Elegans.”
Bird’s-eye view of Bremen by Braun and Hogenberg. The city is seen from the southwest across the Weser. This is a bird’s-eye view of the city with its strictly geometric plan, whereby the perspective is greatly distorted by the staffage figures in the foreground and the extremely steep angle of the far bank of the Weser.
Cartographers: Georg Braun (1541 – 1622)
Franz Hogenberg (1535 – 1590)
Leaf size: 60 x 48 cm
Technique: copper engraving
Map is attached on cardboard with nice mat. Few tears and small missing parts are very professionally restored. Perfect for framing!
