Large Vincenzo Coronelli’s copper engraved map of South America on two unjoined double-page engraved sheets. The division of Brazil into captaincies, with a profusion of toponyms, among them the curious “Mare del Brasile” and “Il Mare del Paraguay”.
The map comes from Vincenzo Maria Coronelli atlas “Atlante Veneto, nel quale si contiene la descrittione… ” published in Venice, 1691.
