Description:
Extremely rare copper engraving of the Second Battle of Warsaw, also known as the Battle of Rakowitz or Rakowiec (31 July 1705), which took place during the Third Northern War between the Polish-Saxon-Lithuanian and Swedish armies (1701–1706). In the foreground visible Ujazdów, the Lubomirski Palace, Wola, Bielany and Warsaw.
The engraving comes from the atlas “Ausfürliche Lebens-Beschreibung Carl des XII, Königs in Schweden…”, published in Vol. 1-9 Nuremberg, Frankfurt & Leipzig 1717.
