Title:                      “Poloniae Finitimarumque locorum descriptio Auctore Wencelslao Godreccio Polono.

Description:
One of the earliest big format map of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania by Abraham Ortelius, very rare first state. The map was based on earlier works by Bernard Wapowski, whose own maps were largely lost in a fire, making Grodecki’s version the primary cartographic source for Polish territories during this period.

The map comes from Abraham Ortelius’ First Latin edition atlas “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. Auctoris aere & cura impressum absolutumque apud Aegid. Coppenium Diest, Antverpiae”, published in Antwerp, 1570.
