One of the earliest views of the cities Venice & Padua (verso) by Hartmann Schedel from the Latin edition of the “Liber chronicarum” published in 1493.

The view is based on the plan of Venice from the woodcut by Erhard Reuwich in the “Sanctae Perigrinationes” issued by Bernhard von Breydenbach in Mainz 1486.

The Nuremberg Chronicles was the first printed history of the known world with about 2000 woodcuts the most picturesque work of the early time of printing. It became one of the most popular books of the 15th. century. Latin edition.
