Description:
Panoramic view of the town of Grodno bordered by the river Niemen. The city then belonged to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, it is now part of Belarus. Russian, Tatar, Turkish and Wallachian envoys are crossing the wooden bridge and entering the city.
View comes from Latin edition atlas “Civitates orbis terrarum…” published by Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg, engraved by Georg Hoefnagel in Cologne, 1575.
