Description:

Rare Gabriel Bucelin miniature map of North and South America based on Ortelius larger map and updated with more recent nomenclature such as Virginia, Nova Granata, and Terra Nova. Amazon River running across the entire South American continent, Terra Australis incognita appears above the title cartouche.

Comes from pocket atlas in Latin “Historiae Universalis Auctarium….” published by Johann Praetorius and Johann Gorlinus in Augsburg, 1658.
