Description:
Beautiful and finely detailed map including the regions of Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, the Caspian Sea and Novaya Zemlya by Vincenzo Coronelli and dedicated to Giovanni da Mula. This is the eastern half of Coronellis’s two sheet map of Europe. An ornamental title cartouche is in the lower right corner, and a cartouche with a distance scale in at the top left corner. On this map Novaya Zemlya still has an undecided coastline and the northern reaches of Siberia are marked as “Piaggie non per anco conosciute”.
