1697 – S. Pufendorf – Regiae urbis Rigae


Title:                      “Delineatio Regiae urbis Rigae …​

This beautifully engraved and detailed plan of a battle in and around Riga is filled with battles, armies, and a large number of cavalry soldiers in the foreground.  The engraving of the “Histoire du Regne de Charles Gustave Roy de Suede …” was published in Nuremberg in 1697 in two volumes. It illustrates the warlike exploits of the Swedish king Karl-Gustav during the clashes, especially with Denmark and the Polish Crown.
