Description:
This is beautifully engraved and very detailed plan of a battle around Riga, filled with armies and a large number of cavalry soldiers in the foreground.
The engraving comes from a book “Histoire du Regne de Charles Gustave Roy de Suede …” published in Nuremberg, 1697. It illustrates the warlike exploits of the Swedish king Karl-Gustav during the clashes, especially with Denmark and the Polish Crown.
