Description:

Highly decorative title page with a Queen sitting on a globe depicting Africa, Asia and Europe. In the foreground further allegorical figures of Mars, Minerva, Mercury and Neptune, each holding a map. In the background, Neptune floats in the sea, while putti fly overhead holding a torch and a dove, symbolizing the conflicting nature of war and peace. Copper engraving published in Augsburg, 1730.

Title page comes together with atlas’ leather cover and few pages with contemporary writings.
