Decorative and rare map of Africa continent, based on Fredrik de Wit map published in 1660, engraved by Johann Baptist Homann. It’s typical one of late seventeenth century maps with the interior of Africa  filled with geographical features and named locations, even it has been very little exploration. Beautiful title cartouche with the people and animals of Africa.

Condition:

Good condition. Watermarked paper, contemporary coloring. Verso reinforcements on margin with archival paper tape and centerfold (map was in the frame before). Few light waterstains.
