Title:                      “Carte De L’Asie Corrigée, et augmentée, dessus toutes les autres cy devant faictes par P. Bertius.”

Description:

This rare map is according to Burden one of a set of the four known continents that Melchior Tavernier published in Paris, with Petrus Bertius’ named on the map. It is very similar to Hondius’ map of Asia, but much rarer and not often seen on the market.
The Asia map bears the imprint of Cornelis Danckerts, a highly skilled engraver.

Condition:
In good original condition, no restoration or cleaning. A few brownish spots present. Paper with watermark. Wide margins.
