Description:
Rare set of educational card game designed by Etienne Jouy intended for “the instruction and the amusement of young persons of both sexes”, engraved by Pierre-François Godard, published by Vaneckere in Paris. Each of the 47 cards (out of 48) contains some information about a country or region of the world, about which players must answer a number of questions. A rare children’s game from the first decade of the nineteenth century and one of the very first to feature the peoples of Australasia.
