Highly decorative title page, from Homann’s “Atlas Novus” published in Nuremberg ca. 1710. It shows in the middle, the globe focused on Europe and Africa, extensive staffage of figurative allegories of Greek mythology, including wind gods, Mercury, Neptune and Atlas, which holds the starry sky.
