Description:
A rare map of Europe, dated 1627. First state, issued by Melchoir Tavernier. Most probably engraved by Cornelis Danckerts (the elder), a highly skilled engraver., probably sold separately at first, did not appear in any atlas.
Prepared by Petrus Bertius, who published a number of folio maps, although never actually an atlas of his own. The maps were either separately issued or included in atlases and books by other publishers.

Condition:
In good original condition, no restoration or cleaning. 3 cm separation in lower centrefold. Paper with watermark. Wide margins. A few stains to margin corners.
